T.O.P. GROOMING RE’POR

Sunday January 8th

3″ of new snow is nice insulation for last week’s winter wheat planting.
…also nice surface to skitch around on while it lasts
three passes of corduroy out there but thin spots remain in all the usual places.
be careful out there…don’t forget to stop….and enjoy the peace.

Very informative for a weather novice like me who’s fretting the possibility (likelihood) of major disappointment and expense. So, should i be canceling the family ski vacation to Telluride for President’s week (Feb 18-25)? I cannot bear to bring my three children here in winter time and there’s terrible skiing. Maybe plan a summer trip instead and try again next winter?

    • Eric.. This is a report for a cross-country/nordic/skate track near Telluride, not the ski area itself.. there isn’t much snow anywhere in the state, but Telluride/WolfCreek have the deepest base that I know of in Colo. near 30″… But skier beware, the snow isn’t plentiful anywhere… JR
