Last Monday night a portion of a large cornice that sits above Roca Jack and the Primera Quebrada fell and triggered a size D2 avalanche that ran 1/2 way down the Caracara run. You can see in the attached photos the hole that the cornice left on the slope. You can also see that the remaining cornice looked menacing. Chico and I dropped a 12 kilo charge on the cornice from the helicopter, eliminating the hazard.
