Oh no. I’m so sorry to hear this news. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos, memories and respect.
Do you have an email for Susan that I can reach out to express my condolences. Bill was a gem of a human being.
Very sad. Abrazos y amor amigo

Very very bad news. Out of the blue. My condolences to Susan and the family. Bill and I shared some adventures, some climbs but not nearly enough. There was that October forced bivy on the DNB in Yosemite. Could have done without that one. Good climb but bad night. This news hits hard. Some hit harder than others. Chuck Kroger and George Gardner. Despite the weather it was a pretty decent day…until now approaching 2 am. Should have gone to bed at a semi decent hour rather than checking email. Well, the consolation that Bill lived a very full damn good life. I’ll miss you, Bill.
ps One afternoon in Telluride Bill told me the story about Armstrong doping (based on what his son who was a team mate on U.S. Postal told him) way before it hit the media. That was quite a scoop albeit of course pretty negative. I’ll never forget that conversation and I’ll never forget Bill.
