Very good to see dear old friends, even if only in pictures. Brings back memories of Richard, Betsy & JoAnna staying at our house out in Blue River some 43 years ago. (Thanks for bringing all the breakfast bagels & cream cheese.) Our daughter first learned how to use the “big girls” potty when visiting the Armstrongs in Boulder before that. Goes to show just how inviting and comfortable their home was, LOL.
They were our snow/avalanche mentors back then, and to many others I’m sure. Gleaned all I could in a snowpit with them as well. Working with Betsy in the infancy of the CAIC was indeed a pleasure. Her literary expertise taught me correct spelling and acceptable sentence structure for forecasts. 😉 A patient lady with a talent for writing and art.

Any mention of the Armstrongs takes me back to the days of the San Juan Avalanche Project. Great memories of the best job I ever had.
